Rebecca Norman is known for her unique, limited - production jewelry, hand crafted locally at her Solana Beach studio. Her modern, down-to-earth chic is the result of an adventurous spirit and vast global life experiences. Of Australian heritage, Rebecca grew up in Taiwan, where at an early age she developed an interest in jewelry. After moving to the States in 1985, Rebecca earned a degree in jewelry fabrication and goldsmithing. APRIL 28 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 3, 2006 MCASD has commissioned Tijuana photographer Yvonne Venegas to create portraits of the artists in the exhibition Strange New World: Art and Design from Tijuana. Cerca Series: Yvonne Venegas, Tijuana Portraits presents this body of work, which examines the genres of portrait and landscape photography.

Humanure - the art show (click on images to see details and larger version) "Anatomy...Scatanthropology... The study of man." These words and thoughts echo through the minds of 21 local artists in the combined efforts and creation of "Humanure - the Art Show" inspired by the band Cattle Decapitation and the self-titled album. "Playing king of the hill On a mountain of manure On a planet called earth Mirroring what we're worth" "2000 years from now they'll discover our copralite learn of disease and parasite enough to know what made us tick enough to make them sick" Mad cow disease, foot and mouth, swine streptococosis and avian flu.Vegetarianism is a choice.


Changing what you eat is an option, but this is not the intent behind Humanure. Humanure tells the other side of the story that we either don't see or don't want to, and brings awareness to the distasteful path your food takes from life, death, and to your plate. The day the animal kingdom takes revenge on the human race.


A generous portion of the proceeds from the sale of the art will be donated to the artists choice of F.O.C.A.S.(Friends Of County Animal Shelters) or the Helen Woodward Center, organizations based on finding homes for animals in shelters awaiting death.
