ABOUT THE ARTIST:

I began photographing a bit before age 14. Unlike most photographers I didn't fall in love because of that "magical" image appearing out of the developer. That was just a chemical reaction. For me it went deeper, I could connect on a different level to what my subject was. I could make a tangible end result of what my experience was at the time.

Now after 11 years I am just beginning to solidify my artistic vision. I have opened a fine art portraiture business to spread that vision and to make a living from it. I consider my portraiture work on par with my personal work and exhibit and sell both. I shoot mainly large format, and enjoy immensly the panoramic format. I find it both liberating and constraining at the same time. It provides me with a fresh way to look at portraiture which I design individually for each subject. I do shoot in standard formats as well, it is really the composition that indicates which method to shoot in. I print by hand myself using traditional methods in the darkroom with the finest of papers and chemicals.
