"My current fascination with houses is seen in all my latest work.
I've discovered that these houses represent people to me. The outside
facades are either; bright and clean looking with darkened windows,
or shabbier on the outside and having some light reflected in the windows.
The symbolism here is that people want to look good on the outside,
but inside is a mystery, our secret, darker selves. The ones that are
shabby on the outside, but have light refelected in them, to me mean
that the inside has hope from this darkness."
"Art in every form is
expressionism, to call myself an Expressionist seems redundant. However,
for lack of a better term an Expressionist is what I would consider
my style and myself. My goal for my art is to relate emotion with my
work. Emotions are what we respond to all art with and they let us connect
with the observer in a deeper way than mere conversation would. Working
with acrylis I can reflect upon a scene quickly and reshape it till
it says what I want it to. Utilizing color creates instant emotional
responses from people and helps me to partly accomplish my goal. Art
though, is more than just color; it;s communication at a very deep level.
My hope is to successfully find this level, which allows others to emotionally
resonate with my work. Currently, my work focuses on architectural scenes
that don't exist entirely in reality. All my work creates a space that
you can retreat too in spirit, a space for quiet contemplation."
